This weekend we stepped out to Long Island, NY for my college roommate and great friend, Cheryl's, wedding.
I met Cheryl on my recruiting visit for the college soccer team during our senior year of high school. As soon as I met her, I knew we'd be instant friends {especially since we were 2 "yanks" - her NY and me NJ- at a southern school ;} When I found out at the very first soccer practice of our freshman year that we both decided to go to the same school, I was thrilled. We were then inseparable for the next 4 years. =)
We left yesterday morning for this fabulous NY wedding, but we first had to pack up the kiddos and send them off to Aunt Kristi's house for the night. Carter was SO excited to go stay with his cousin's Ben & Gracie {he talked about it ALL week.} Here's my little man all packed up early Saturday morning...
Love him! {And a HUGE thank you to Kristi & Matt for watching my babies this weekend!}
Our trip up to NY was exactly as I expected. We made it through NYC fairly quickly, but we then hit the shore traffic out to the Hamptons {it started in Brooklyn, people. Brooklyn!} and our car came to a crawl for the last 2 hours of the trip. So? Our 2.5 hour trip ended up taking about 4.5 hours. That's okay though, because I expected it to take 5, so technically we were ahead of the game, right? {Right? No? Okay.}

When we finally arrived at our hotel, it was around 3ish and we hadn't eaten a thing since breakfast. Because the wedding didn't begin until 6:30, we knew we had to grab a bite to eat before getting ready. So, what do you think I decided to wear to the hotel bar {located in Yankee Nation, mind you}?
WOOT! Go Phils! =)
It was hot yesterday. HOT. Thankfully they pushed the wedding inside though, which made Bob extremely happy {I thought he might have died right there in his suit.} Here's a few pics before heading off to the wedding.
