If you remember this post, I mentioned that he wanted to be some kind of sports player... first basketball, then football, etc. Bob suggested he just go as a sports nut. Which would have been cute... but then he changed his mind. Again. {Shocker.} He wanted to be a basketball. No, no... not a basketball player. A basketball. And since they don't sell basketball costumes {and no, I'm not making one} that was out the window.
So, one day while watching Cars, Carter decided that he wanted to be Lightning McQueen. Awesome. We can do that. I decided to take him costume shopping with me just in case he saw something else he wanted. Of course, they didn't have Lighting McQueen in the store, but he also didn't want to be anything else that he saw {which was good... he finally picked a costume... WOOT!}
When we got home, I pulled up the costume online before I ordered it. He was pissed. "Nooo, I don't want to be Lightning McQueen. I want to ride in Lighting McQueen."
Annnnnd, back to square one.
For the umpteenth time, I showed him costume after costume. Dinosaur. Toy Story. Superman. Spiderman. You name it. Then we got to this Pirate costume. {A costume that he's seen at least a dozen times already.}
And he finally got excited. And he yelled "Argh, trick-or-treat." And then the skies opened and the sun came out because we finally FINALLY had a costume.
Whew.
I'm home today, and I got a video of Carter saying "Argh, trick-or-treat"... I love it. =)
Oh, and if you want to see take I of the video, here it is. I'm actually surprised I could get him to say it in just 2 takes. He was upset that he couldn't see himself on the video while it was taping {like he can when we take pictures.} He's pure evil, I tell ya...
As for Miss Brynn... well she was easy. I found this costume last year but by the time I went to order it, it was sold out. I made sure to get it early this year, since this will be the last time she'll fit into it!
Awww, a little Lady Bug!
How did everyone else make out this year with costumes? Hopefully better than me ;)

Love those costumes! My sister and I decided to go with a superhero theme. Landon is Spiderman (he is already wearing his costume around the house every night) and Brigham will be Batman. Then their cousin will be Superman! We'll be safe on Halloween night.
LOVE that Brynn is going to be a lady bug. How very fitting. It's the best bug there is :)
Love the costumes! They'll look so cute.
We had a little costume switcheroo happening at our house, too. Decided to make a chocolate chip cookie costume for my youngest. My 3 year old liked it so much he wanted one too. He previously said he wanted to be a mummy. So finally, all set to get started on the second cookie costume, and he switches back to mummy. We get him all wrapped up in cheesecloth "bandages" to see how he'll look. He kind of likes it. The next day, he says he wants to be Batman. I told him I won't buy another costume since I already bought mummy making supplies. So of course he says Batman, since he already has a Batman costume.
Argh!!! What the hell am I going to do with 10 packages of cheesecloth if he switches his mind again?
I am glad I am still at the point of choosing. I bought H's costume when they brought out last year's stuff that didn't sell. It is a dog because it only cost $5.
I may or may not have manipulated Kendall into being what I wanted her to be (Rainbow Brite). After I youtube'd a video she was up for it. I figure I only have a few (if any actually after this) years left of being able to pick! ha ha
Hahaha! James has been doing the exact same thing. Matthew was easy... He's just going to wear the adorable lion costume James wore the year he was one. James has alternately wanted to be an alligator, a giraffe, a cowboy, Lightning McQueen, Thomas the Train, back to giraffe and alligator... I finally suggested maybe he should be a ghost, since he is ALWAYS talking about "ghost-es" and loves to see ghost decorations and say "boo!" He loved the idea of saying, "boo! trick or treat!" so that's what I'm going with! ;-)
so cute!
E is going as the Stay Puft Marshamllow Woman. Can't let those fat rolls go to waste.
I love the costumes. So adorable! We let Landon pick his own outfit out. Anytime we would look at costumes he'd always pick a monkey. So, I found the cutest monkey outfit at Old Navy. They also had a shark that I was tempted to stick him in instead. When he picked the monkey outfit over the shark then I knew what to get. We put the outfit on him and then store and everybody loved it. :D
I've got a 19 month old Hamburger and a 5 month old hot dog. Ew that sounds gross. But they'll be super cute! p.s. I'm new, love your bloggy.

Addison was going to be the same ladybug. We went to the store to buy it (I had also been waiting and harassing the store about when they were getting their shipment since we waited too long last year) but when she saw the cow costume she started giving it hugs and kisses. How could I deny her the cow after that? So Carter's cow it is. My mom actually found the perfect matching cow treat bag at PBK and got that for her too. It's too cute!
How cute!!!! I love both those costumes! My Maddie wore that ladybug costume last year! It is a comfy cute costume. Ella too can not decide what she wants to be - and it changes every. five. minutes. From witch, to princess, to ghost, to ballerina, etc, etc, etc, I guess that's a 3 year old for you! :-)
Ok, I am laughing because Olivia does the same thing. I love how you tried distracting him and asking about the monsters on his shirt and was having none of it. Sounds SOOO familiar! Love his costume. Love Brynns! Olivia was that two Halloweens ago probably the same age as Brynn...it's so cute to see them walking in it and I love the Tights! I would have sent it to you! I had it either 18/24 months! I just consigned it!
love it! Lexie is the same lady bug! I'm scared for when she gets older and I have to go through what my SIL calls the "Costume game"
Awww too cute. Hahah I guess he was tired after the second take..I can only imagine child actors and how many takes they have to go through when making a movie...
